Christmas is nearly here! Don’t Panic! I Have You Covered…

Hello everyone, and just like that, we’re rushing into November! I’m completely buzzing, as if it’s already Christmas Eve, with all the last-minute prep for my biggest event of the year: the Makers Cornwall Christmas Fair, taking place on 7–9 November at the Penryn Campus in Falmouth.

The Friday evening is always my first taste of festive spirit, cocktails, music, and the wonderful camaraderie of fellow makers as we build and stock our stalls. The temptation is enormous, surrounded by so many beautiful creations from Cornwall’s finest artisans. I’ll do my best to resist… though I suspect Sunday morning’s stallholder shopping hour will be when I do all my Christmas shopping!

Of course, a big show like this means a lot of preparation. Alongside three enormous suitcases packed with handwoven loveliness, there’s an entire stand to fit into my other half’s car and the challenge of remembering every last detail. (Yes, there’s a checklist this time!) I’m also planning a festive outfit… something suitably seasonal, naturally.

If you’re visiting the fair, do remember the venue gets very warm. And for those further afield, perhaps a continent away, don’t worry, my online shop is always open and brimming with beautiful handwoven homewares and thoughtful gift ideas. Every order is carefully wrapped in tissue and gift boxes, ready to make your life a little easier when it comes to giving.

This time of year always fills me with pride and reflection. I truly feel my weaving has found its rhythm, there’s a lovely cohesion to the work I’m creating now, and each piece feels like part of a greater whole. Every throw of the shuttle has brought me joy this year.

So, if you’ll forgive me a moment of celebration… I’m delighted to introduce my 2025 Christmas Hand Towels. Many of you have become collectors over the years (and a few of you own every single one I’ve ever woven — kudos!).

This year’s design is unashamedly festive, rich red organic cotton, woven in a textured pattern with dainty snowflake motifs along the hems. There’s a gentle Scandinavian vibe to them, elegant and timeless, and I hope they’ll bring a touch of warmth to your home long after the holidays.

Following the lovely response to my Dawn Skies bed runner collection, I’ve been developing the theme further. My latest piece, called Sand Dunes, takes a softer, monochrome route, all the better to show off a complex twill that reminds me of ripe barley in the summer sun.

Woven in gentle ecru on a natural warp, it’s made from soft organic cotton, generously sized to sit beautifully across the foot of a king bed or drape elegantly over a double. The accompanying lingerie bag completes the look, and together they radiate quiet sophistication.

As the year draws to a close, I’m juggling several exciting new projects along with some family commitments, so Makers Cornwall will be my only event this festive season. I do hope you won’t be disappointed if you can’t make it and of course, you’re always welcome to contact me if you’d like to arrange a private view before making a purchase.

If you’d like to chat about anything mentioned here or something you’ve spotted on my social media. I’d love to hear from you. You can get in touch via the Contact page on my website.

Until next time, my friends. May your days be merry, your lists be organised, and your hearts full of creative cheer.
